You might reflect on your first meeting.    Who was there to greet you when you walked in?    Who answered some of your questions, or introduced you to someone who could?   Do you have some quality recovery?  Consider a service role as "temporary sponsor", which can help you get used to sponsorship, perhaps becoming one when you're ready

What a Temporary sponsors Does:

Help the newcomer get oriented
Tell about 12-Step program literature & recovery tools
Help a beginner get started in studying and working the steps.
Can act as a program buddy, by providing some accountability
Help answer that large list of questions almost everyone has at first
Help point a newcomer in the right direction in starting their own recovery program
Provide encouragement and support until the newcomer finds a permanent sponsor.
